What’s on: Three day antiques and decorative arts fair in Berwick-upon-Tweed this June

The stunning setting of Paxton House, just over the border in Scotland is the setting for a three-day antiques extravaganza

Whether you’re a serious antiques collector, are looking for some unique decorative pieces for your home or just enjoy browsing vintage items and picking up unusual objects then you won’t want to miss this event.

The antiques and decorative fair takes place between Friday June 14 and Sunday June 16, from 10am to 5pm at the stunning Paxton House, in Berwick-upon-Tweed (admission £5).

Glam Racket Events Ltd., in partnership with Paxton House, have organised this premier antiques fair, which will be held in the grounds of the beautiful, Grade 1 listed, house.

Glam Racket was set up in 2023 by a group of four dealers, to promote antique fairs in, and around the Borders area, to encourage fairs with a wonderful, enjoyable atmosphere.

The organisers said: “The Glamracket name comes from a dear friend of the group, Davey Wright, who died much too young, it was his business name, now we honour him by carrying the name on.”

Stunning location

Paxton House lies just three miles west of the A1, near the walled town of Berwick-upon-Tweed, midway between Newcastle and Edinburgh.

Paxton is also the home of a nationally recognised collection of Chippendale and Trotter furniture, inside the neo-Palladian style house on the banks of the Tweed.

The inaugural Paxton House Antiques Fair, will introduce up to 70 quality dealers selling a wide range of antiques, decorative items for interiors and exteriors, salvage and collectibles, including jewellery, ceramics, curiosities, cameras and many more.

All this can be found in the fabulous shopping arcade style marquees throughout the event.

Inside the large marquee, you can browse all of the smaller items, some quality jewellery, postcards, books, bronze figures, paintings and a range of curiosities. On site there is a variety of catering, including the Paxton Stable Café, providing tea and coffee, soft drinks, selection of cakes and an amazing sausage roll selection!

There is ample parking and a walled caravan site, (booking is necessary), an onsite daytime bar and toilet facilities. Berwick itself has a railway station, hotels, restaurants and attractions. And a bus service runs from Berwick to Paxton.
