A power boat was towed to safety after getting stranded on rocks between Alnmouth and Boulmer.

The vessel, with one person on board, was on rocks near Seaton Point and taking in water through a damaged hull.

Humber Coastguard requested both Amble all-weather and inshore lifeboats to be launched at 3.25pm on Saturday.

Three other vessels and a jet ski had also offered assistance and managed to get the vessel into deeper water.

A crewman from both the all-weather and inshore lifeboat went on board with a salvage pump to clear the water inside the boat, before it was towed to Amble harbour where it was lifted out by Amble Boat Company for repairs.
