Court order sought to remove travellers
A court order is being sought to remove travellers who have settled at The Braid, in Amble.
The group arrived on Monday and the county council served a legal notice requiring them to leave by noon yesterday.
But yesterday afternoon, they were still there, so the authority was applying to the magistrates’ court for a removal order.
Police and other partners are monitoring the situation, including doing welfare checks and providing bin bags for them.
