Dog walkers reminded to respect the countryside
NSA took to social-media platforms to spread and increase awareness of the devastating problem, sharing personal case studies, statistics and hard-hitting graphics and photographs with the wide-reaching audiences of Twitter and Facebook.
Katie James, NSA communications officer, said: “During the intensive week-long campaign, our data shows more than 250,000 people saw, interacted or shared our campaign messages. In addition, the campaign kick-started many others to get involved with the fight against this serious issue.”

It was the latest in a line of similar incidents throughout Northumberland in recent years.
